Mr. Petersen began his legal career with the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office and went on to work for the insurance defense firms of Donahue & Callaham and Caufield, Davies & Donahue, both located in Sacramento, California. In 1994 Mr. Petersen returned to his home of Mendocino County and went to work as a civil litigator and Worker’s Compensation attorney for the family firm of Petersen Law Offices. During his 20 year tenure with Petersen Law Offices, Mr. Petersen tried numerous cases to a successful verdict, several of which resulting in awards exceeding one million dollars. Mr. Petersen’s passion, expertise and trial success lead him to become one of the most sought after trial lawyers in Lake, Mendocino and Sonoma Counties.
Mr. Petersen has also served as a Judge Pro Tem and Hearing Officer for the County of Mendocino. He has also taught courses for attorneys and insurance adjusters regarding case law and changes in the law and civil codes.
